We all have our own reasons for our starstruck VW love (or maybe not-so-starstruck). Come inside and let us know what gets your heart thumping, or gets you stark raving mad.
That’s my good ol’ GTI when I first brought her, *ahem* it, home from the dealership in late 2003. I love the thing to death. Thank goodness I haven’t had any of the most common problems that have occured in the MkIV: broken window regulators resulting in windows falling into the doors, blown coil packs, weird electrical gremlins, wheel paint chipping, rattles, rattles and more rattles. Well… I do have some rattles. Oh well, can’t win them all. But overall, it’s been a very solid vehicle.
Things I love: The stable, heavy feel. Oh, the red and blue interior lighting! Love that. The wide, sporty stance. Relatively good fit and finish and quality materials. The exhaust note of the 24v VR6… mmmmmmmm (insert Homer drool here).
