Personal search engine = Killer

Google? Yahoo? Ha. Create your own search engine to search for dub accessories because, as we all know, it’s always better to do it yourself.

I’m so tired of searching for VW news and information on the web. You know the drill. Go to Yahoo or Google, throw in your keyword (Mark IV Golf, Monster Mats, etc.) and sift through the results, half of which are just some dude yammering on about how he loves his Golf…uh, wait. Maybe that’s not so bad.

Anyway, the point is that so often I just wish that I could search sites that I know and trust. Sites that will provide me with useful information, every time I hit them. My time is too valuable to look at thousands of results, especially when I only look at the top 20-25.

Enter Rollyo. This killer new web app (currently in Beta, so don’t get too angry if something breaks) allows you to create your own mini search engine of trusted sites to search. There’s a nice sense of community here, so you’re encouraged to use others’ search rolls as well (even Debra Messing has one). Give it a try – it’s pretty fun. I’ve created one called “VW Goodies and Resources” using the following sites:
