The Autostadt: Dub Delivery with Class

Think back to when you picked up your VW from the dealer. I’ll bet it was nothing like this.

This is just one of the 20-story car towers at VW’s Autostadt facility in Wolfsburg, Germany that houses hundreds of brand new dubs that are anxiously awaiting their first owner. The massive structures are only part of the overall experience that includes hotels, shops, museums and even a virtual car design studio. The idea is to entertain you for the entire day until you take delivery of your new vehicle.

The Autostadt

My god. While my buying experience at VW was a pleasurable one, I can’t imagine going through this. Hell, most folks buy several cars from one dealer and the most exciting thing they get to do is ring a bell and have their picture taken with the salesperson (as is the case with my parents, who bought 7 Toyotas from the same dealer and NEVER received anything I’d call memorable). I’m afraid some people couldn’t stand the excitement and might drop dead at the end of the day. Still, hitting this place up for a day would be amazing.
