Sewage into a bubblin’ crude.

A New Zealand firm, Aquaflow Bionomic, has announced that it has created the first sample of bio-diesel fuel from algae in sewage ponds. The process removes the algae from waste water and creates usable clean water that could be suitable for human consumption if treated properly. Aquaflow expects to produce the fuel at a rate of one million liters (that’s about 264,172 gallons by my math) a year by next April. Read the full article here.

Obviously if this is true, it’s a HUGE break through. Could you imagine? The water you waste could potentially fuel your ride(well, sort of). Wow.
