The new SUV will be Golf based, similar to the concept A.
Leftlane News (whatta great site) has reported that VW will announce the new SUV about mid summer, a model whose name will be selected from a list of contest entries from AutoBild Magazine. The favorites are:
- Nanuk
- Namib
- Rockton
- Tiguan
- Samun
While I have to say that I’m not a huge fan of the Concept A, I think VW is moving in the right direction to challenge the likes of Honda (CRV) and Toyota (RAV4) for the entry-level SUV market. If they offer a TDI version, they could blow those two out of the water(even though the RAV boasts 30mpg highway). We’ll just have to cross our fingers and see….

Hmm, if that’s all the choices I have, I would go with Tiguan I guess. Kinda plays off of both that and the Touareg starting with T’s, and both being SUVs, er something. I don’t know. Maybe I’m stupid. haha But none of those choices really jump out to me.
If it’s going to be an SUV-esque vehicle, what the hell are those big ass rims with low-pro tires doing on it?? Taking a little too much from the Escalade and not enough from the Tourareg.
They had it right in the 80’s
Hahahahah yes! That old Golf SUV hybrid monstrosity. :D That rocks my face.
