The new Polo BlueMotion is the most economical car of its class in Europe. Average fuel consumption of the 5-seater: 3.9 liter/100 km. On the highway it consumes just 3.2 liter. Either way: With fuel consumption of under 4.0 liter per 100 km this Volkswagen saves cash at the fuel pump: 100 kilometers of driving costs on average 4.45 Euro*. And: Its 45 liter fuel tank capacity combined with 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers yields a theoretical driving range of greater than 1,150 kilometers. Via media.vw.com

  1. I think the TDI Polo gets in the area of 65mpg, the Lupo TDI is in the 90’s. VWoA are jerks for not importing these awesome cars.

  2. I read that they didn’t want to because they would have to increase the safety standards to bring these rides to the US, something that would increase the cost of production considerably.

Then again, if the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris start gobbling up market share, VW might reconsider. To bad they can’t lead in something like this.
