A rebranded Polo. The little guy has been getting alot of love in the press as of late for it’s 62 mpg (that’s a diesel of course). The current Polo is slightly subpar in the safety department by American standards, and originally VW said they wouldn’t bring it over due to the increase in production costs a safety upgrade would bring. This has urked some folks a little. However, if they move quickly, they could take some market share from the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris (certainly the new model would compete with them from a price standpoint). Then again, if the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris start gobbling up market share, VW might reconsider. To bad they can't lead in something like this.
