Two Thumbs Up for Century VW Service

My wife took her Jetta in to Century VW yesterday to have the air conditioning checked out. Their customer service is second to none for Cincinnati-area dealers.
The Jetta stopped blowing cold air over last weekend, so with the threat of this constant heat we’ve been having around here we got it checked out ASAP.
Century was able to get the car in the following day after we called and did a thorough check of the entire car. They checked for leaks in the AC system but didn’t find anything, so they recharged the system and added a colored dye to make it easier to detect a leak if the system stops blowing cold air again.
Just as a precaution, they also checked all of the exterior lights, the horn, tire tread depth and a few other miscellaneous maintenance items. All the while being very timely and courteous.
It’s also interesting to note how they treat a woman customer versus a man. Unfortunately, at most places they are treated differently. But that wasn’t the case at Century.
Warrantied work + good service - $0 out of Dax’s pocket = Great Dealer Experience

You are very right, D, about how they treat men versus women at most car dealers - whether for service or for sales. I got a good taste of that in my experience in purchasing my Buggy. In my attempts at working dealers against each other, I had some of the guys in the office working the phones with me and the guys definitely tended to get better deals and the sales folks on the phone with the males tended to be more willing to work the numbers. I even called one guy out on treating me differently cause I was a girl, which he, of course, denied — yet ironically, 5 minutes later his MANAGER called me back and gave me an offer which I ended up taking. My overall take away from my experience is that they seemed assume that women are significantly less knowledgeable about all things automobile, so it’s easier to play them.
Wish I was in the Cincinnati area. Unfortunately, the only dealership/service center nearby is in North Little Rock, Arkansas. North Point Volkswagen has managed to shock me everytime with the depth of its indifference and poor quality care. Lucky you.
