I’m a-lookin’, and I’m a-likin’. VW plans to unveil the Scirocco concept, dubbed the Concept S, at the Paris Motor Show next month.
(Read our original article) Based on the proposed Golf MkVI platform, the concept shares the now-familiar frontend with the chromed waterfall grill and slatted bumper vents.
Buyers will have a broad choice of engines to choose from (most likely not in the States, however. We usually only get a fraction of the choices): 1.4L turbo/supercharged TSI, 2.0T from the new GTI, and a 170bhp TDI. Top-of-the-line choices could be either the 3.2L VR6 or a 260bhp version of the 2.0T. Both a 6-spd manual and the new DSG clutchless transmissions will be offered. VW plans to release the new Scirocco to the wild in 2008.
Let’s just hope Volkswagen sticks to the concept closely and doesn’t dumb down the production version. Though, VW isn’t usually known for doing that, unlike most other automakers.

Looks like a Passat coupe with HUGE wheels. It’ll be fun to see how the final product turns out.
Dude, 170hp TDI!
*starts rethinking idea of buying an R32 in favor of TDI*
