VW Owners Love Macs, Or Mac Owners Love VWs?

A buddy of mine sent over yet another great custom plate on a New Beetle.

Is it typical that Volkswagen owners are generally Mac users, or is it the other way around. Mrad and I are both avid Mac users since we’re in the creative field. I recently switched over to a Macbook Pro from years on a PC at work… Mrad will be getting his shiny new Mac Pro soon.
Maybe it’s because Volkswagen owners are attracted to a general set of design traits: clean lines, minimalism and simplicity, sleek materials, etc. Both VWs and Macs sport these traits.
What do you guys think?

Not to mention the similarities in advertising. Both like to put the product in the front against a white field with a sans-serif tagline that makes you chuckle and say, “hmm, clever.” But VW did it first. Just go back and look at thier lemon ads.
Can’t wait for that friggin’ Mac Pro though. My PC is starting to drive me insane.

I think you’re on to something… after 15 years of PC’s, I’m switching to Mac soon. Hopefully, it will be like my transition to VW; a little painful for at first but so worth it in the end! I’m on my second VW now (had a golf, have a passat) looking forward to a new GTI or Rabbit when this lease is up.

@Jason: Haha yes, the transition can be painful at first, but well worth it in the long run. The lease on my GTI will be up in November of 08, so I might have some tasty choices to pick from… maybe a Scirocco? >;) Nah, prolly be the new minivan. lol
I’m a recent Mac convert but have been into veedubs for nearly 15 years.

yeah, my lease is up in july ‘08. I’d like to move on to a performance oriented VW, but methinks I’ll be firmly into the family starting years (ie, kids!) at that point. Things will be all about max space and highest efficiency. Hopefully I can talk the wife into a passat wagon…
geez, I guess I better enjoy my passat while I can!
Jason, I’ll be in the SAME boat. hahaha I’ll have to go Passat Wagon as well. Unless they actually release the Microbus concept (yeah right) :D.

W8 02 4motion Passat with low miles should I anticipate any problems?
Hey Steve, since your Passat doesn’t have the 1.8l engine, which was notorious for oil sludging if oil changes with full synth weren’t done regularly, you should be good to go.
Just purchased a 05 Jetta and had a iPod adapter installed. However in doing so the Satellite Radio sound does not work. I get Satellite reception to the radio just fine. I am guessing the iPod adapter takes one of the ports on the back of the radio that is needed for sending sound to the speakers for the Satellite Radio. Any one know of a fix or a splitter that would work so I can have both working?
Ive been a VW fan for as long as i can remember, and have always been a apple person (now a serivce tech for and apple dealer in central FL), im driving a 74 beetle as a daily driver and love the heck out of it.
Wouldnt mind owning a new bug, but i like my bugs old and aircooled.
Also, VW and Apple have similar product-naming schemes. Instead of a product number, like most PC manufacturers, and certain car companies, VW and Apple’s products have actual real names that are easy to remember and say.
