VW to unveil a Mazdaspeed 6 killer…maybe.
I didn’t know that Mazda was ruffling enough feathers to warrant a “killer” of any of it’s vehicles, but I guess VW feels there is. The Mazdaspeed 6 sports a 2.3L DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder engine with turbocharger, direct gas injection and all-wheel drive. Prices start at $28,555. I haven’t seen one on the road, but I guess it’s something that warrants attention. That’s why VW is possibly looking (according to Auto Express) to offer a “hot” version of the Passat, pimped out with the 3.6-liter V6 that currently sits in the R36. Can we speculate this bad boy will rock the DSG as well? Mayhaps some all-wheel action of it’s own?
We’ll have to wait and see. Now I’ve got that stupid jingle in my head. I’d like to edit my own version:
“Zoom, zoom, zoo..”
*Loud crash as the door to the singer’s soundbooth crashes open, and a group of swearing Germans duct tape his mouth shut and carry him off, never to be heard from again. One of the Germans sets fire to the Mazda sound library, destroying any recording of that stupid, trite and irritating jingle*

Sometimes I see so many Mazda3 hatchbacks running around that I think there’s a Mazda convention rolling through town, but yeah, I don’t notice too many Mazda6 cruising.
