Jetta Back at the Dealership Again

My wife’s Jetta started acting up once again, almost stalling with the check engine light flashing.
We thought it might be a bad batch of gas since my wife had just filled up her tank when the problem started occurring. So this time we took it to Century VW, the best VW dealership in the Cincinnati area hands down.
But no, it turns out cylinder #1 was misfiring… again. The first time this happened we took it in to Northgate VW and they replaced a faulty ground wire to the coil pack.
Well, that faulty ground wire must have damaged the ignition coil because that’s what we had to replace this time around. It’s all well and good that everything is warrantied with no out of pocket expense, but it seems that Debora and I are beginning to experience the general woes of owning a VW.
Gotta take the bad with the good! No matter how many problems they may have (I need to be careful saying that hahaha), I’ll still rock ‘em. I love ‘em!

My sons Jetta just came up with a code for his cat failing. I work for an auto parts store…found out there is a Tech Bulletin out….premature failure of cat as a result of the faulty coil packs. Have your cat checked, it will probably fail soon, and will give you a code when it does, hopefully first…unfortunately, for my son his pack went out, while still in warranty, but no that he is 2,000 miles over the warranty, and did not know about the cat problem…he is stuck with a very large repair bill…seems to me if this is this common of a problem, VW should have issued a recall. Good luck
