VW R GTI…Yum…

VW announced the R GTI at the SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas last week, and it looks fun.
Pimped out with carbon fiber, 19 inch red & black alloy wheels and a 400 horsepower engine, the R GTI rocks faces from coast to coast. According to Review Cars, it pulled out 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds. Check it out:
I’m diggin’ on it hardcore. I love the black magic GTI, and the extra beef makes this bad boy really rock. I could do with a different treatment on the wheels though – they feel really heavy and bulky. Still, this fella is a demon.

Hmm, I don’t know about branding it with the R32 badge, but that GTI looks pretty hot.
I’ve gotta admin, the MkV look has grown on me a LOT, and I’m really diggin’ this.
I really, really dig those wheels. Especially when they’re moving — that red stripe is hot.

Um, this is that crappy thing that APR tried to make, right? Man, I know someone that USED to work there- they really are not all that they claim they are… sorry. Not interested in this…
No? Only weird people don’t like it – j/k! I must admit, it has lost some of it’s appeal since I posted this.
I totally dig those rims! What a sweet ride.
I’ve got a 99 GTI VR6 and it’s taken me a while to warm up to the MK5, but it’s really grown on me. I’m just not sure about a turbo engine. I’ve had 3 VWs with the VR6 and those engines are bullet proof. My 94 Corrado had 325,000 km on it and she still pulled like crazy. VW claims they won’t put a V6 in the MK5, but I might hold out for one more year just to be sure.
Oh man – a Corrado…I caught a glimpse of a yellow one up on a rack being service at my dealer today. Whatta sweet car.
I’d like to match the VW GTi R against the VW R32.
All specs.

Sorry Jean-Pierre, we’re running like crazy right now and don’t have time to compile all the specs. Mayhaps on a future post, but we just can’t get to it anytime soon.

Hey lance there are many tuner shops and websites that can have all of your questions answered. The best way to learn about your car is to find a forum and ask questions. Try forums.vwvortex.com I have an 05 jetta goi with the 1.8t engine. Go there and you will find out what you need.
Hey man!!..i have an 07 Fahrenheit and always wanted to know what the name of those rims are..on that VW..cant find them anywhere :/
@ oleg: With the R GTI being a concept car, I’m assuming they’re custom. If you happen to ever track ‘em down, let us know! :)
