Following sister-company Audi’s example with the high-performance S model range (and, for that matter, similar divisions from competitors like Mercedes AMG and BMW M), Volkswagen has been developing its R range into a force to be reckoned with. Via Autoblog.com












That’s weird they’re calling it new, I’ve be seeing R-line brochures at the dealership for quite a while now (2+ years) offering the exact same thing, all show, no go.
If R-Line was like AMG or M, then there would be some serious engine upgrades to go along with these cosmetic changes. You can’t really go to a Mercedes dealership and say I like this E320, please take it in back and “AMGicize” it and I’ll buy it.
Yeah, that naming has been around for a bit now. I guess they’re just firing up a marketing campaign for the new models or something. But you’re right, there’s not to much go with that show.
