Rabbit Wagon on the Horizon

As reported by various sources (with leftlanenews being the most notable).
Many folks have been a buzz of the past 48 hours about some spy photos (already copyrighted and badged to death, so I’m not going to bother dropping them here) of a Golf/Rabbit wagon that has been dubbed the Golf Estate. While it’s not known if this model will make it to the states, we do know we can expect to see it at the Frankfurt Motor Show later in ‘07.
It would be fun to see if this comes to the states. But another wagon? I must say that I’m not sold on the idea just yet. Do many folks walk into VW dealerships and say “ya know, if a wagon were 5K less I’d JUMP on it”? I honestly don’t know. But it is becoming apparent after VW’s recent commitments to more family oriented folks, that they plan to take makers like Toyota and Honda head on by really beefing up their product offering. Perhaps Wagons are the next minivan or compact SUV? I personally dig wagons, and wouldn’t be caught dead in a minivan.

I love wagons. Heck the Golf already is a mini wagon.
I’m trying to figure out the difference between a Jetta Wagon and a Golf Wagon.
They might have killed the Jetta wagon Justin. I don’t see it listed on their site, nor have I really heard anything about it. But if they where to keep both, my guess is it would come down to the frontend and some minor features.
The 2008 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon and 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit Wagon are both coming to the US market. They are being unveiled in a few weeks in Chicago.
Thanks for the heads up Mark. We’ll keep our eyes peeled.
VW fanatics will surely wait till the 2008 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon and 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit Wagon be launched. I myself is looking forward to see these cars. I just wonder, what new Volkswagen Rabbit parts is in store with these wagons?
Is this for the old school Volkswagen Rabbit Diesels also? On my 1981 VW Rabbit diesel, it says under the hood on the panel, that the fuel filter system is a Racor system and that additives should not be used. Any idea why this is so?
Also, I am trying to get it going again after sitting for several years. What should I expect after getting the brake line installed and the battery for it in?
It supposedly ran several years ago after a friend gave it to us.
