I've replaced at lease 4 headlights and countless tail-lights. Never seen anything like it. Should have invested in bulb stock when I bought the car - might have ended up even. But like above i can not complain if that is the only issue rather it be a brake light than the transmission or something like that i would rather pay 6 dollars than 3000. Other than that extremely happy with my vw. I have had my 2001 golf for 2 1/2 yrs. now and the only problem i have ever had with it is the brake lights and head lights i have replaced headlights twice and brake lights twice. I don't know what the issue is, but VW needs to address it. This is rediculous. The head lamps were the absolute worst. You need an engineering degree and teeny tiny fingers to access the stupid housing and then thread the new bulb back in.
