On April 19, two days after his 70th birthday, Ferdinand Piech will take the center seat on the stage in the Congress Centrum in downtown Hamburg. Piech’s appearance at Volkswagen group’s annual meeting will be the crowning moment for one of the auto industry’s shrewdest personalities. At the meeting, Piech will be voted in for another five-year term as chairman of VW’s supervisory board. More importantly, Porsche AG, the sports car company controlled by the Piech-Porsche Austrian automotive family dynasty, is set to take control of VW. Via autoweek.com
