The MkV R32s are very nice, but I’m still disappointed that it’s only available in the DSG Automatic. That’s something I loved about the MkIV R32s – 6-Speed Manual.

Next time I’m searching for a car, I’m going to stake out a MkIV R32 above any MkV R32. Unless the MkVI R32 (R36?) come in 6-Speed Manuals.

The ol’ 2.8l VR6 24V can almost keep up…. almost… too hopeful? :D :D

Not everybody wants a turbo. The 3.2L VR6 produces an awesome amount of power from a stop all the way to redline. No GTI can do that.

Actually, 2.0T GTIs have been made to run at 300 HP for racing. Why VW doesn’t stick with a turbocharged model for its highest end Golf platform vehicle is rather odd, as it seems to be what they’re really good at these days.

Good catch. I didn’t compare it against the current R32. But I do really dig the Mark V platform, and I think this guy will be a lot sturdier than before.

I’ll just be tryin’ to keep up in my little Golf….

Finally posted my thoughts on this.. Ha, love the car but dang VW, lets give it a bit more "power"! The GTI is at 300hp and GTI 30th is at 230hp (not US bound). This should be atleast hittin 280! owell, ill still be pimpin my +200hp New Beetle. ;)
