With a worldwide sales increase of 12.1 percent, August saw the strongest monthly growth so far this year for the Volkswagen brand, even outstripping the previous record-holding month of July (plus 10.5 percent). A total of 286,000 vehicles were delivered during the eighth month of the year, bringing an 8.3 percent rise in January – August sales compared with the same period last year.
