Some of us are looking for great gas mileage & a sporty but more refined ride then what is available now. Not all Americans are looking for SUV gas mileage & status. As the video stated, the motors will stay the same, with TDIs optional. The video also said "...greater availability of diesels..." - Maybe they plan to ship/build more TDIs than they have in the past, or 2 TDI options? Either way, this'll be a Mk5.5 - no Mk6 yet. The TSI 1.4 in the euro golf does not compare to this fine engine, and the TSI 1.4l needs the expensive super premium, and does not sound as good, I know i drove one.
