Well, I just got my first chance to see, sit, and tinker around with the Tiguan at the dealership today. And, well... Volkswagen has done an outstanding job with the Tiguan. I was pleasantly blown-away with the quality and simplicity of the machine.

I was pleased with the photos and what I've read online about the TIguan, but now that I've seen it in person - well, like I said - I was pleasantly blown away with the new CUV, and now I'm confident that Volkswagen can take on (and even beat-out) the Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav-4, Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, and Mazda Tribute.

The only complaints are: 1) 2.0T is standard, I think the 2.5L should be. 2) The TDI motor isn't here - yet.

I'm sure VW has a good reason for using the 2.0T instead of the 2.5L motor, I'm looking forward to seeing how the TDI will make its way into the market. I assume that it'll do fantastic considering the current gas prices.

Two major thumbs up for VW designers & engineers!

Those are slots for credit cards... I personally highly dislike them...
Hopefully the large display of the Stereo will make it less visible...
Ive only seen the one with the lousy small screen w/o touchscreen stereo in person.

Good eye Jordan. I took a look at it on the high res version of the photo and I can't tell what it would be used for. :P I first thought maybe a slot for inserting nav system cds (if they were those smaller cds or something) but that's typically done in the regular music cd slot.

What's the component to the left of the hazard light switch, on the dashboard, with the two horizontal slots?

Hmmm....something about it just screams "Kia Sportage" to me. As always, I'll have to reserve my judgement for when I see it in person.
