Hahah your response pretty much sums up what I thought about them as well. I was going to mention that they were some pretty bad photochops, but eh… lol Good call mang!
Bleh. Looks like someone punched the Beetle in the mouf. Let’s hope these “concepts” never see the light of day.

Highly doubt it. When the car show was in town last year, a guy from corporate said that the Beetle was headed for hibernation by the end of 2010 or so – I don’t recall the year, so don’t quote me, plus it’s just hear-say.
Good call Matthew. I remember hearing that or something similar as well this past year, but don’t recall the details. As much as corporate changes their ideas, who knows what they’ll do with it. :D
When VW announced the Final Editions of the New Beetle, many members in my club were and are still convinced that the Beetle is dead after 2010. Yet the rumors of a 2012 resurrection are everywhere; complete with all sorts of renderings. Some look cool, others are awful. The very latest appears in the March issue of Automobile; sort of a flat roof but not as pronounced as the old Ragster Concept, squared taillights, and a larger back seat area. Has this been confirmed by VW or is this just more “guessing?” It would certainly be nice to hear something concrete from VW!
Iiiiinteresting Pat. I’ve heard soem of those rumors myself, but nothing has hit my ears yet about confirmation. It would definitely be nice to know once and for all! One thing I have noticed about VW in general, is that with the latest round of models coming out, they’re returning, rather strongly, back to their roots. So let’s keep our fingers crossed! :D
