UPDATE: NEW Photos added. Uh oh, someone made a booboo and let slip a couple production photos of the new 2009 Volkswagen Scirocco set to debut at the Geneva Auto Show.
I’m hesitant to post the photos pending any legal action, but what the hey. lol As for the new Scirocco itself, I’m liking so far. I have to reserve my judgment until I see more photos and get a chance to see it in person. That may never happen though since Volkswagen has no plans (as of yet) to bring it stateside. We can only hope! The final production version has deviated a bit from the concepts we saw a while back.
The photo leaks were traced back to this website and this one.

Man, bring that bad boy over here! I’m really diggin’ it. I will say that it begs to be dropped into some kind of Cars movie parody though - the front grille reminds me of Raphael the ninja turtle. I could see this thing talking.
*Awesome*
It’s like my 08 GTI put on The Mask. Hopefully VW brings it to the U.S.
US bound? I guess we will find out on March 3rd. VW’s main issue has been with the GTI sales here and if the Scirocco would interfere.
The front design does have a subtle throw to the W12 650. If you match ‘em its there. ;)
We just posted a little historical article w/ gallery. The first Scirocco was announced at Geneva 34 years ago.
It looks a lot like a MKV GTi stretched to have a more A3-ish profile. Which, in my mid, is a perfectly good plan. However, I doubt it’ll come over here because it would simply cut into GTi sales and not be worth the cost of federalizing.
Hot! I actually haven’t like the last few VW models, too generic, but this seems a step in the right direction
What have you heard about the fuel filter system in the up coming TDI’s plugging up in 10k miles because our fuel is too dirty? Our dealer says the legal wrangling over this issue is why the TDI’s delivery has been delayed. Didn’t know where to post.
Hey vwwannabe, I haven’t heard about that yet but it makes sense because as far as I know our diesel fuel standards aren’t anywhere near what Europe’s is. So it could be the reason.
