Leftlane News goes for a spin in VW’s sexy new CUV, the Tiguan.
One of our favorite automotive resources, Leftlane News, has posted a fairly detailed review of VW’s newest addition, the Tiguan. I won’t go into too many of the details here, but overall the review was very positive. I was interested to learn that the Tiguan’s 2-liter TSI 200 horsepower engine more than gets the job done (especially compared to Toyota’s RAV4) but is recommended to take premium and only gets 18/25 mpg. Ouch.
And while the audio system’s 6.5 inch HD touch sensitive display, iPod connectivity and 30 gig hard drive make me feel a bit better, the Tiguan’s starting price of $23,200 still makes it the most expensive of its notable competition, the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V (priced at $21,250 and $20,700 respectively). Sigh.
Still, the Tiguan looks like it’s going to be a great addition to the VW family. For even more info, head over to VW’s site or read the review at Leftlane.

I agree. It will be a great addition and it will sell. But two things deter me from thinking about snagging one:
1. Pricetag - especially when options are considered
2. Gas mileage in today’s world - Why don’t they just go ahead and slap the Bluetec in there. :D
Great little ride though.
I was just at the dealership yesterday, and they had 4 of these babies on the lot. They were all cloth interior, 2.0T, and one was 4Motion. I wasn’t too into the look initially, but I could see the 2.0T with 4Motion as being a great car.
